Design Brief –

The customers for this kitchen wanted to use a variety of colours and textures in their kitchen.

Design Challenges –

The long run which houses the ovens and larder unit had many different dimensions which didn't lend themselves to using off the shelf cabinetry. To make the most of the space (including the generous ceiling heights) we decided to use predominantly bespoke cabinets.
On the opposing tall run, we again made good use of the heigh ceilings but also had extra wide and deep cabinets to house the washer and dryer.

Finalised Design –

The design went through many revisions to find the right mix of colours and veneer. Having considered many different veneers and stains we eventually landed on Cherry which nicely compliments the yellow of light green. Although it is a relatively dark wood, used sparingly it doesn't become overbearing.
Contrasting handle backs (cherry for the laminate doors and vice versa) were decided upon to add even more visual interest.
A discreet wall mounted fan was chosen to avoid both robbing any storage space from under the hob and adding anything too heavy above the peninsular.

Materials -

Birch plywood doors with three different finishes - Egger Brilliant Yellow and Pistachio laminate and Cherry veneer
Combination of Howdens base units and bespoke towers and cherry bookcase.
Blum soft close hardware throughout and a quartz worktop
